La oposición con su función de limitar y controlar el poder tiene como sustento legítimo el ejercicio de la libertad, y por ende toda limitación a su práctica sería un atentado contra esta "sustancia" de la democracia, Asimismo, se plantea cómo el bipartidismo no generó oposición sino que por el contrario cerró la posibilidad de su pleno desarrollo formal; siendo cubierta de un lado por las disidencias de los partidos y, de otro, por la oposición popular, que se transformaría, por momentos, en revolucionaria.SummaryThis article seeks to explain the study of the political opposition in Colombia, not only through its meaning but through its types and historical development, with the intention of determining its dynamics from a conceptual and methodological frame.
