dc.description.abstractEn el mundo existen miles de personas que no pueden acceder a los servicios médicos. Hay ocasiones en las que los pacientes presentan dificultades económicas y hasta geográficas por las cuales se les hace imposible acceder a una cita con los diferentes especialistas. La Telemedicina se presenta como una solución a corto plazo para pacientes que habitan en zonas de difícil acceso o poblaciones muy alejadas de las principales ciudades capitales del país, en las cuales se encuentran los centros que pueden prestar servicio de atención médica especializada. El apoyo de las TIC permite lograr con mayor satisfacción el servicio de telemedicina de acceso remoto, permitiendo emitir diagnósticos, tratamientos y seguimiento de manera apropiada a pacientes con enfermedades que anteriormente no podían ser curadas por la dificultad que se tenía de acceder a los servicios médicos. La Telemedicina en Colombia se está implementando en numerosas entidades del sector salud tanto público como privado, las cuales ofrecen un portafolio que ha venido presentando un crecimiento a medida que esta tecnología avanza en el país. Con este trabajo se busca hacer un estudio del estado actual de la Telemedicina en Colombia a nivel de normatividad, estandarización y plataformas tecnológicas, con el fin de proponer las posibles oportunidades que aporten al desarrollo de la implementación de la Telemedicina en la región nororiental
