dc.description.abstractEsta investigación histórica tuvo como objetivo principal el estudio de la experiencia independentista en la Provincia de Pamplona durante el periodo de la Primera República. Tomando como referencia la crisis política desatada por el secuestro de la Monarquía española en 1808 por parte de las fuerzas bonapartistas y el desconocimiento en algunos reinos hispanoamericanos de los poderes centrales que sustituyeron temporalmente al Rey Fernando VII, se estudiaron los aspectos relacionados con el papel de las élites en la formación de las Juntas de Gobierno, la reasunción de la soberanía en las principales poblaciones de la Provincia, el debate y las pugnas por las soberanías provinciales, el desarrollo del movimiento constitucional y las batallas regionales por la Independencia. Las nuevas interpretaciones sobre la Independencia resaltan el significado de las experiencias locales que la hicieron posible. La pasividad de Santafé respecto a la crisis monárquica hizo que los primeros movimientos por la Independencia surgieran en algunas Provincias y que el poder político de la capital virreinal se redujera al tiempo que las localidades ganaron autonomía. La conmemoración histórica del Bicentenario de la Independencia permitió la descentralización de los estudios y la reinterpretación de las experiencias locales. Sin embargo, están pendientes estudios sobre la función de otros grupos sociales definitivos en la guerra contra las tropas españolas, la composición de los ejércitos patriotas, la mentalidad del clero local y de otros sectores sobre la Independencia, el gobierno de la Provincia durante el periodo y su relación con el régimen federal.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis historical investigation set as its main objective the study of the experience of independence in the province of Pamplona during the period of the First Republic. Taking reference the political crisis triggered by the abduction of the Spanish monarchy in 1808 by the Bonapartist forces and the ignorance in some Hispanic kingdoms about central authorities which temporarily replaced King Ferdinand VII, were studied aspects of the role of elites in the formation of the Boards of Government, the resumption of sovereignty in the main towns in the Province, the debate and the struggles to the provincial sovereignty, the development of the constitutional movement and regional battles for independence. The new interpretations of the meaning of Independence highlight local experiences that made it possible. Santafé passivity regarding the monarchical crisis made the first moves for independence arose in some provinces and the political power of the colonial capital was reduced while the towns gained autonomy. The historic commemoration of the Bicentennial of Independence allowed the decentralization of research and reinterpretation of local experiences. However, pending studies on the role of other social groups in the final war against the Spanish troops, the composition of the patriot armies, the mentality of local clergy and other sectors on the Independence, the government of the Province during the period and its relationship with the federal system.
