dc.description.abstract	De acuerdo a lo establecido legislativamente por el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y el Ministerio de la Protección Social (anteriormente Ministerio de Salud) para lograr la disminución y el control del impacto ambiental ocasionado por la actividad generadora de residuos sólidos hospitalarios de las empresas de salud, se requiere por parte de estas entidades, la elaboración de un Plan de Gestión Integral de Residuos Hospitalarios (PGIRHS) y Similares que proyecte acciones para cumplir con dichas exigencias. Uno de los componentes del PGIRHS es el manejo de los residuos Sólidos. Los residuos sólidos debido a sus características de heterogeneidad, su naturaleza intrínseca, composición, contenido de humedad, capacidad de absorción y al incremento actual en el uso de material desechable, como una medida de bioseguridad, hacen que las instituciones deban garantizar procesos adecuados de segregación y disposición de los residuos infecciosos y peligrosos impidiendo la propagación de enfermedades y la contaminación del medio ambiente. El PGIRHS de cada institución debe definir y especificar los procedimientos, procesos, actividades para el manejo adecuado de los residuos que generan. En él se encuentran los Programas de formación y educación, Manejo Integral de Residuos Sólidos, Contingencias y Seguridad industrial y Tecnologías limpias. El desarrollo del PGIRHS para el Laboratorio Clínico, Centro Clínico de Rehabilitación Integral IPS se trabajó por fases, iniciando con el diagnóstico ambiental y sanitario para posteriormente realizar el diseño con base a lo establecido normativamente. Lo anterior teniendo en cuenta la labor y alcance del Laboratorio Clínico del Centro Clínico de Rehabilitación Integral IPS ya que las acciones establecidas en cuanto al manejo de residuos sólidos deben lograr que los procesos realizados sean óptimos, adecuados y sostenibles en el tiempo.
dc.description.abstractenglish	According to the legislatively established by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Social Welfare (formerly Ministry of Health) to achieve the reduction and control of environmental impacts caused by the generating activity of hospital solid waste companies in health, required by those entities, preparation of a Plan of Hospital Waste Management (PGIRHS) and similar actions planned to comply with these requirements. One component of the PGIRHS is the solid waste management. Solid waste due to their heterogeneity, their intrinsic nature, composition, moisture content, absorption capacity and the current increase in the use of disposable equipment such as a biosecurity measure, mean that institutions should ensure adequate segregation processes and disposal of hazardous and infectious waste by preventing the spread of diseases and environmental pollution. The PGIRHS of each institution must define and specify the procedures, processes, activities for the sound management of waste they generate. It includes the programs of education and training, Integrated Solid Waste Management, Industrial Security and Contingencies and clean technologies. The development of PGIRHS for Clinical Laboratory, Clinical Center of Rehabilitation IPS worked in phases, starting with the environmental and health diagnosis and then carry out the design based on the established rules. This taking into account the work and scope of the Clinical Laboratory of the Clinical Center of Rehabilitation and IPS that measures in the management of solid waste must ensure that processes are best carried out, adequate and sustainable over time.
