| dc.description | The relevance of the discussion of these issues is indisputable to discuss not only the performance of the province of Maracaibo in the emancipation process but also the participation of other provinces of the territory of the Captaincy General of Venezuela in this significant juncture in our national history. In the same way, highlight the historical role of Rafael Urdaneta in the definitive pronouncement of the dissident provinces of the western part of the territory in favor of the liberal republic that was brewing. Using the techniques, resources and method of historical science, we have reflected on the historical sources and contributions of some historiographic studies in order to offer a new reflexible and critical look on the independence process of Maracaibo, considering this jurisdiction as a province. dissident to the movement led by the Caracas council. Efforts have also been made to highlight the role of Rafael Urdaneta as promoter of the events that favored the pronouncement of Maracaibo in favor of independence in 1821 sealed, after the capitulation of Francisco Tomás Morales, with the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo in 1823. | dc.description | Es indiscutible la pertinencia de la discusión de estos temas para debatir no solo sobre la actuación de la provincia de Maracaibo en el proceso emancipador sino sobre la participación de otras provincias del territorio de la Capitanía General de Venezuela en esta significativa coyuntura de nuestra historia nacional. Del mismo modo destacar el rol histórico de Rafael Urdaneta en el definitivo pronunciamiento de las provincias disidentes del occidente del territorio a favor de la república liberal que se gestaba. Utilizando las técnicas, recursos y método propios de la ciencia histórica se ha reflexionado sobre las fuentes históricas y aportes de algunos estudios historiográficos con la finalidad de ofrecer una nueva mirada reflexible y crítica sobre el proceso de independencia de Maracaibo, considerando a esta jurisdicción como provincia disidente al movimiento liderado por el cabildo de Caracas. También se han hecho esfuerzos por destacar el rol de Rafael Urdaneta como promotor de los acontecimientos que favorecieron el pronunciamiento de Maracaibo a favor de la independencia en 1821 sellado, luego de la capitulación de Francisco Tomás Morales, con la Batalla Naval del Lago de Maracaibo en 1823. Esta aproximación deja claro que aún es necesario estudiar aspectos significativos de este importante periodo histórico de la historia del Zulia y Venezuela por lo que se requiere ampliar la consulta de fuentes históricas localizadas en archivos de Caracas, Bogotá y Sevilla. | es-ES |
