Ayer llegué a esta ciudad donde me han recibido con un entusiasmo loco. Abracé al general Páez y en este abrazo, puede decirse, que ahogamos la guerra civil. Páez lo mismo que todos los jefes y amigos que lo rodean están reconciliados de muy buena fe y no desean sino el olvido que yo les he prometido.
