En este artículo se destaca la importancia del cambio copernicano que hacia la década de 1980 ocurriera en la historiografía venezolana con la aparición de los estudios regionales. Se critica a la historiografía tradicional caracterizada por el centralismo historiográfico. La historiografía actual se ha orientado hacia la reconstrucción de la historia venezolana a partir del uso del concepto “región histórica” que permite investigar la totalidad territorial y social de nuestro pasado. Como un estudio de caso el artículo se centra en el análisis de la formación y consolidación del circuito agroexportador marabino en el occidente del país.
This article highlights the importance of the Copernican change occurring at the Decade of 1980 in Venezuelan historiography with the emergence of regional studies. He is critical to the traditional historiography, characterized by historiographical centralism. Current historiography has been oriented toward the reconstruction of Venezuelan history based on the use of the concept "historical region" which allows to investigate the social and territorial whole of our past. As a case study the article focuses on the analysis of the formation and consolidation of the wearer agro-export circuit in the West of the country.
