| dc.description | This text is intended, to offer a reflection broadly on the situation of the human element attached to the milicias santafereñas, pointing about the popular nature of this institution, taking into account, the influence and interweaving of subordinate sectors emanated from the peasantry and the craft dependent on colonial society, on the representativeness and performance of the militia as a corporate structure within the cyclical processes that had been brewing in the Viceroyalty since the end in the 18th century, and which served as a prelude to the civil wars of independence and the decline of Spanish colonial hegemony. | en-US |
