| dc.description | The growth of cities at the expense of surrounding towns has been an indisputable process. The interesting thing about this process is that although these are spaces that change (for urbanization), they are also territories that remain in memory, territories that are built in the imaginary and are preserved because it means "something" for its inhabitants. This is the case of the town of San Miguel Carrillo (north of the city of Querétaro), a place where the sense of belonging is built from social organization (based on popular religiosity) and a common past they share. In the collective memory of the carrillenses there are two facts that marked the historical evolution of the town: 1) the expropriation of the ejido and 2) the impact of the industrial park (not only for the change of land use and productive sector, but also because the water became scarce). These two events are narrated and are assumed to date as a great loss, as a historical debt that the city has with them. | en-US |
| dc.description | El crecimiento de las ciudades a expensas de los pueblos aledaños a ella ha sido un proceso indiscutible. Lo interesante de este proceso es que si bien se trata de espacios que cambian (por la urbanización), también son territorios que permanecen en la memoria, territorios que se construyen en el imaginario y que se preservan porque significa “algo” para sus habitantes. Este es el caso del pueblo de San Miguel Carrillo (al norte de la ciudad de Querétaro), un lugar en donde el sentido de pertenencia se construye a partir de la organización social (basada en la religiosidad popular) y de un pasado común que comparten. En la memoria colectiva de los carrillenses hay dos hechos que marcaron el devenir histórico del pueblo: 1) la expropiación del ejido y 2) el impacto del parque industrial (no solo por el cambio de uso de suelo y de sector productivo, sino también porque el agua comenzó a escasear). Estos dos sucesos se narran y se asumen hasta la fecha como una gran pérdida, como una deuda histórica que la ciudad tiene con ellos. | es-ES |
