| dc.description.abstract | Ecopetrol S.A es la primera empresa petrolera de Colombia y una de las cinco más grandes de América Latina. Esta empresa posee dos complejos industriales ubicados en las ciudades de Barrancabermeja y Cartagena. La refinería de Barrancabermeja corresponde a un complejo de conversión media (86%) y durante el procesamiento del crudo genera 32 KBPD de un residuo con . El Slurry es destinado en su totalidad a la preparación de combustóleo, producto cuyo mercado no es prometedor debido a su bajo valor de comercialización y a nuevas regulaciones ambientales que exigen la disminución en su contenido de azufre. En este sentido, iniciativas como el procesamiento de Slurry en la torre de vacío 205 son requeridas en la empresa para el aprovechamiento del mismo. En este trabajo se realizó el modelamiento de la operación en la torre 205 para el procesamiento de Slurry, y se determinó que la implementación de la iniciativa representa una disminución en 2,5 KBPD de combustóleo y un aumento en la producción de asfalto y gasóleo pesado de vacío. De igual forma, se establecieron los requerimientos y adecuaciones necesarias en la iniciativa, para concluir que la alternativa en mención se consolida como viable en términos operativos y representa un escenario favorecedor en el ámbito económico con un beneficio esperado de 18 MUSD/año. | |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | Ecopetrol S.A is the first oil company in Colombia and one of the biggest in Latino America. The company has two refineries located at Barrancabermeja and Cartagena cities. The Barrancabermeja refinery has a medium conversion (86%) and during the treatment of the crude oil it produced 32 KBPD of a residue with a high content of sulfur called "Slurry". The Slurry is addressed for the fuel oil blending, which forecast is not promising due to the low marketing value and new environmental regulations that demand the diminution of the sulfur content in this product. In this way, alternatives like the Slurry processing in vacuum columns are required in the company. In this work it could be seen the modeling for the operation in the T-205 column for the slurry treatment, also it was found that this initiative represents a reduction of 2,5 KBPD in fuel oil production.
