| dc.description | The theaters became socialization spaces for the city of Bucaramanga in the last years of the nineteenth century. As soon as their activity started, which included the operettas and drama, they had to begin a transformation, in order to face a new show: the movies. The cinematographic exhibitions increased the spectators flow and less than two decades before, they stopped being a circus show, to become an artistic activity. By the end of the second decade of the twentieth century the cinema spaces were declining, and just as today, the spectator remained eager in front of the closed doors. | en-US |
| dc.description | Los teatros fueron espacios de socialización para la ciudad de Bucaramanga en los últimos años del siglo XIX. Apenas iniciada su actividad, que oscilaba entre las zarzuelas y las representaciones dramáticas, tuvieron que empezar a transformase para adaptarse a un nuevo espectáculo: el cine. Las exhibiciones cinematográficas aumentaron el flujo de espectadores y en menos de dos décadas dejaron de ser un espectáculo de circo, para convertirse en una actividad artística. Al finalizar la segunda década del siglo XX los espacios del cine decaían y los espectadores, igual que hoy, permanecieron inquietos ante las puertas cerradas. | es-ES |
