Publicación: The Service of “Protection” to the Indians and confrontation of educational colonialism

| dc.description | The article is the result of reflections built in the development of the work plan: the indigenous school education of the Guarani and Kaiowá in the historical documentation (2017-2019) and presents, as objectives, the historical contextualization of the Indian Protection Service, its actions "civilizations" against the Brazilian indigenous peoples and the consequences of colonialism rooted in the state policy directed towards the traditional peoples. Supported under a qualitative approach, a bibliographic review was performed, being analyzed and complemented by post-colonial references that discuss the theme. Reflections show a changing scenario, since the consequences of the conduct of the SPI are being faced by the original peoples through the search for a differentiated education and the struggles and claims carried out by the subjects themselves in this context. | en-US |
| dc.description | El artículo es fruto de reflexiones construidas en el desarrollo del plan de trabajo: la educación escolar indígena de los Guaraní y Kaiowá en la documentación histórica (2017-2019) y presenta, como objetivos, la contextualización histórica del Servicio de Protección a los Indios, sus acciones "civilizatorias" frente a los pueblos indígenas brasileños y las consecuencias del colonialismo arraigado en la política estatal dirigida a los pueblos tradicionales en el municipio de Mato Grosso do Sul. Bajo un enfoque cualitativo, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica y documental, siendo analizada y complementada por referentes poscoloniales que discuten la temática. Resultados iniciales exhiben un escenario en cambio, ya que las consecuencias de la conducta del SPI están siendo enfrentadas por los pueblos originarios a través de la búsqueda de una educación diferenciada, y por las luchas y reivindicaciones protagonizadas por los propios sujetos de ese contexto. | es-ES |
