El presente escrito hace parte de la etapa de exploración en el proceso de construcción del objeto de estudio de la investigación Poder, prácticas y discursos de la elite neogranadina en la legitimación de la construcción nacional, a propósito del caso pamplonés (1800-1850). Por lo tanto, más que resultados de investigación proponemos un ejercicio de reflexión sobre la región y la élite que nos interesa abordar. En el primer apartado presentamos un panorama general de los estudios que sobre Pamplona se han realizado en la historiografía. Nos interesa centrarnos en la forma cómo se ha abordado la localidad en el marco de una región histórica dinamizada por las conexiones sociales favorecidas, a su vez, por las rutas fluviales. En segundo lugar, realizamos un breve panorama de la configuración socioeconómica de la élite pamplonesa a lo largo del periodo colonial. Finalmente, abordamos la relación entre Pamplona y las haciendas en San José de Cúcuta como enclave productor en la ruta del cacao.
The present paper is part of the exploration stage in the process of construction of theobject of study. Therefore, instead research results we suggest an exercise of reflectionabout the region and the elite interests us address. In the first section we present anoverview of the studies that have been conducted on Pamplona in historiography. Wewant to focus on the way the town has been addressed in the context of a historicalregion energized by social connections favored, in turn, by the fluvial routes. Second,we make a brief overview of the socioeconomic configuration of Pamplona‟s elite alongthe colonial period. Finally, we address the relationship between Pamplona and estatesin San Jose de Cucuta as producer enclave on the route of the cocoa.
