dc.description.abstract	La unidad de ácido sulfúrico U470, ubicada en las instalaciones de la Refinería de Barrancabermeja, hace parte del grupo de las llamadas unidades ambientales, encargadas de consumir el gas ácido H2S producido en el complejo industrial. Fue construida en 1980 para suministro interno y ventas; tuvo una remodelación en el año 2002 con el fin de aumentar su capacidad, manteniendo las mismas especificaciones de su producto. En concordancia con la política de Responsabilidad Social y Empresarial de Ecopetrol S.A., las unidades ambientales deben jugar un papel importante en la operación de la refinería. Motivo por el cual se diseña la estrategia de recuperación de la unidad de ácido sulfúrico. En dicha estrategia, se plantean algunas iniciativas que requieren ajustes operacionales, cambios en la metalurgia de equipos o la implementación de nuevas tecnologías, producto de diferentes estudios de firmas especializadas, inspecciones del personal Ecopetrol S.A. y recomendaciones de expertos, realizadas a la unidad, con el fin recuperar su integridad, confiabilidad y disponibilidad, para de esta manera minimizar el impacto económico, a clientes, a la imagen del grupo empresarial, al ambiente y a las personas, que ocasiona su salida de servicio, y que deberán ejecutarse en periodos específicos debido a los tiempos que toman los procesos de compra y diseño.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The sulfuric acid unit U470, is located in the facilities of the Barrancabermeja’s refinery, is part of the group of so-called environmental units, responsible to consume H2S acid gas produced by the industrial complex. This unit, was built in 1980 for local consumption and external sales, this was revamping in 2002 with the aim of increasing capacity, while maintaining the same product specifications. In accordance with the policy of social responsibility and business Ecopetrol S.A., the environmental units should play an important role in the operation of the industrial complex. For this reasons, the strategy is designed to recovery sulfuric acid unit. In this strategy, it raises some initiatives that require some operational adjustments, changes in the metallurgy of equipment or implementing new technologies in some parts of process, products of different firm specialized studies, inspections staff Ecopetrol S.A. and expert recommendations, made to the unit to regain its integrity, reliability and availability to thereby minimize the economic impact, to costumers, to the image of the business group, to the environmental and the people, causing its output service, and to be implemented in specific periods of time because they take the buying process and design of the engineering of the new technologies.
