dc.description.abstract	Debido a la carencia en Centroamérica de una canasta energética propia, lo hace una región netamente importadora de productos derivados del petróleo y gases combustibles para uso de las Termoeléctricas e Industrias y para el mercado residencial y comercial. Por otro lado Colombia con más de 60 años de experiencia en la explotación y comercialización de hidrocarburos siendo un referente en la región en este sector industrial, no cuenta con una planeación en su oferta de gas natural, contando con excedentes que son subutilizados por no tener un mercado proyectado ni una demanda definida la cual puede estar en Centroamérica. De lo anterior nace la necesidad mediante el presente estudio de dar los primeros cimientos en la exploración de nuevos mercados internacionales del gas natural. El propósito de éste trabajo es realizar el estudio de prefactibilidad técnico-económico de un gasoducto de transporte de gas natural hacia Centroamérica desde Colombia. De esta forma, el estudio consta de cinco capítulos en donde inicialmente se presenta la información base del estudio, posteriormente se da una revisión del estado actual del upstream y downstream del gas natural en el país, se identifica un punto de conexión probable, las etapas del gasoducto y los centros de consumo masivo en Centroamérica, se desarrolla un análisis hidráulico de la línea con la evaluación de ubicación de estaciones de compresión, especificaciones de tubería y equipos principales y por último se realiza un análisis financiero mediante el cálculo del CAPEX y OPEX y un análisis de las inversiones proyectadas por etapas del gasoducto teniendo como indicadores financieros base el VAN y la TIR. Concluyendo en la viabilidad, restricciones y consideraciones de las siguientes etapas del proyecto.
