dc.descriptionThe article analyzes how gender roles are symbolized in three Colombian reviews issued in the first half of the 20th century: Labores, Tierra Nativa y Lumbre. The research is focused on three aspects. Firstly, the article tackles the gender roles proposed by the reviews mentioned. Secondly, authors inspect the relationship between gender roles and the contemporary´s Colombian political and economic context. Thirdly, are examined the functions, values and stereotypes assigned to both sexes in those days advertising. In conclusion, the research is a first approach to the Colombian nation-state building‟s influence on the gender roles configuration.en-US
dc.descriptionEl artículo analiza cómo son representados los roles de género en tres revistas colombianas de la primera mitad del siglo XX: “Labores, Tierra Nativa y Lumbre”. La investigación se centra en tres aspectos: primero, el artículo aborda los roles de género que proponen dichas publicaciones; segundo, la relación entre los roles de género y el contexto político y socioeconómico de Colombia; tercero, las funciones, valores y estereotipos que se asignaron a cada sexo y su reflejo en la publicidad de la época. En conclusión, la investigación propone una aproximación a la influencia que el proceso de construcción del Estado-nación ejerció en la configuración de los roles de género.es-ES
