dc.description.abstract	La gestión integral de residuos hace parte fundamental del funcionamiento de las empresas y actualmente es un tema de gran importancia, teniendo en cuenta que como producto de sus actividades, se generan gran cantidad de residuos. Realizando una adecuada gestión de residuos, no solo se cumple con lo establecido en la normatividad legal, sino que además se disminuye el impacto ambiental que genera este tipo de contaminantes, por esta razón las empresas deben tener claro todas las etapas de la gestión integral. En este documento se establecen los lineamientos para realizar una adecuada gestión de los residuos generados en el Instituto Colombiano del Petróleo, desde su generación hasta la disposición final de los mismos, de acuerdo a lo establecido por el ministerio de ambiente, vivienda y desarrollo territorial, el cual sugiere las siguientes etapas: Prevención y minimización, manejo interno, manejo externo y seguimiento y evaluación, además, de cumplir con las responsabilidades legales que se tienen por ser un gran generador de residuos. Adicionalmente este documento contiene los pasos para gestionar cada uno de los residuos que se generan en las áreas operativas del instituto y algunas recomendaciones para disminuir la generación de los mismos y prevenir los posibles impactos en las personas que los manipulan y en el medio ambiente. Este plan aplica a cualquier residuos generado en las instalaciones del ICP, y con él se busca que los trabajadores de las áreas donde se generan, conozcan la manera de realizar una adecuada gestión y, desde sus actividades diarias puedan implementar buenas prácticas que se traduzcan en una disminución de los residuos generados actualmente, asegurando el compromiso ambiental de la empresa y el cumplimiento de su política integral de compromiso con la vida y desarrollo sostenible.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The integrated waste management is part of the basic operations of companies and is currently a major issue, because as a result of its activities, a lot of wastes are generated. Performing a proper waste management, not only complies with the legal regulations, it also reduces the environmental impact generated by this type of pollutant, which is why companies must be clear all stages of the integrated management. This document sets out the guidelines for proper management of waste generated in the Colombian Petroleum Institute, from its generation to final disposition, according to the established by the ministry of environment, housing and territorial development, which suggests the following stages: prevention and minimization, internal management, external management and, monitoring and evaluation, and also to fulfill the legal responsibilities that need to be a major generator of waste. Additionally, this document contains the steps for managing each of the waste generated in the operational areas of the institute and some recommendations to reduce generation of them and prevent potential impacts on people handlers and the environment. This plan applies to any waste generated at the facilities of ICP, and he seeks workers from areas where they arise, know how to make an appropriate and from daily activities to implement best practices that result in a reduction of waste currently generated, ensuring the company's environmental commitment and fulfillment of its overall policy of engagement with life and sustainable development.
