dc.description.abstractenglishNowadays hydrocarbons industry faces a huge challenge: energetic demand around the world is increasing and it must answer this call by exploiting gas and oil from unconventional reservoirs. Technological advances in drilling and stimulation techniques have turned these complex resources, into technically and economically viable energy sources, however they have added another concern to the process: The environmental impact caused by the use of large volumes of water, its contamination and subsequent disposal in the environment. The present grade project focusses on the implementation of nanotechnology for the treatment of flowback water from hydraulic fracturing of unconventional reservoirs, as an alternative to current treatment methods in order to reuse and recycle flowback water in later stages of hydraulic fracturing and thus achieve a reduction of the environmental impact that this last one generates. .
