dc.description.abstractEste estudio examina la relación entre la distancia tecnológica y cuatro indicadores de la calidad de la innovación - posición relativa de la patente (RPP), ventaja tecnológica revelada (RTA), Índice Herfindahl-Hirschman de Patentes (HHI) y las citas de la patentes (PC), en alianzas inter-organizativas del sector de biotecnología a nivel mundial. La investigación se desarrolló mediante el método de análisis factorial, a través de la técnica de correspondencia múltiple. Los resultados confirman que la distancia tecnológica de los socios de la alianza no tiene relación con las citas. Por otra parte, se estableció que hay una relación de la DT con el RTA, RPP y el HHI, sin embargo, se observó que la DT con el RPP guardan una fuerte relación lineal, mientras que la relación de DT con RTA y HHI, parece presentar una configuración de U invertida, asemejándose al hallazgo realizado por Noteboom (2007), que relacionó la distancia tecnológica con el desempeño de la innovación. De esta forma, estadísticamente se demuestra que la distancia tecnológica, medida en términos de la diferencia de las bases de conocimiento entre las organizaciones que conforman la alianza, tomando como proxy la patente, es un factor que se asocia de manera significativa a la calidad de la innovación. 1
dc.description.abstractenglishHirschman Index of patents (HHI of patents), and patent citations (PC) This study examines the relationships between technological distance and four innovation quality indicators - relative patent position (RPP), revealed technology advantage (RTA), Herfindahl Hirschman Index of patents (HHI of patents), and patent citations (PC), in inter - organizational alliances in the biotechnology sector worldwide. The research was conducted by the method of factor analysis, through the technique of multiple correspondence. The results confirm that the technological distance of alliance partners is unrelated to the patent citations (PC). Moreover, it was established that there is a relationship of DT with the RTA, RPP and HHI; however, noted that the DT with the RPP keep a strong linear relationship, while the relationship of DT with RTA and HHI, seems to present a configuration of an inverted U, resembling the finding by Noteboom (2007), which relate the technological distance with the performance of innovation. Thus, it is statistically demonstrated that technological distance, measured in terms of the difference in knowledge among the companies within the alliance, taking as proxy patent, is a factor significantly associated to the quality of innovation. 3 Research work for the degree of Master in Industrial engineering. 4 Faculty of Physical-Mechanical Engineering.
