dc.description.abstractOBJETIVO: Determinar si existe una asociación entre los niveles séricos elevados de Interleuquina 6 y la presentación de Preeclampsia. DISEÑO: Estudio de Casos y Controles LUGAR: Realizado en los Hospitales Universitario de Santander y Hospital Local del Norte de la ciudad de Bucaramanga- Colombia. MÉTODO: Fueron incluidas 530 pacientes. Caso: paciente con edad igual o menor a 25 años, primigestante, que presente los criterios clínicos de Preeclampsia Control: paciente con edad igual o menor a 25 años, primigestante, en trabajo de parto y con embarazo a término, que presente tens medida por tira reactiva. INTERVENCIONES: Consentimiento informado verbal y escrito, entrevista escrita, examen físico, medición de proteinuria por tira reactiva (caso y control) y en orina de 24 horas (caso), toma de muestra de sangre, medición sérica de Interleuquina 6 con técnica de ELISA Sándwich. RESULTADOS: Se incluyeron 174 pacientes con Preeclampsia (casos) y 356 gestantes normotensas (controles). Se encontraron diferencias significativas entre las pacientes con PE y los controles en cuanto a edad, antecedente de PE en la madre y en las hermanas, edad gestacional, historia de tabaquismo durante el embarazo, cifras de presión arterial al momento del parto (sistólica y diastólica), peso del neonato y puntaje bajo en la escala de Apgar neonatal, tanto al minuto de nacido como a los cinco minutos. La mediana de los niveles séricos de IL6 entre las pacientes con PE fue de 13.70 pg/mL (RIQ 6.2827.2), mientras que entre las control fue de 12.10 pg/mL (RIQ 5.3527.60), diferencia que no fue significativa (p = 0.4709). Se halló diferencia cuando se compararon las pacientes control con aquellas que presentan síndrome HELLP.
dc.description.abstractenglishOBJETIVE: To determine whether there is an association between high seric levels of Interleukin6 and the presentation of Preeclampsia. DESING: control case study. LOCATION: University Hospital of Santander and Local Hospital of the north. Bucaramanga, Colombia. METHODS: 530 patients were included. Case: Patients aged less than 25 years, with clinical findings for preeclampsia. Control: Patients aged less than 25 years, pregnant with her first child, term pregnancy, in labor, with blood pressure 140/90 and negative proteinuria measured by test strip. INTERVENTIONS: Verb and writing informant consent, written interview, physical examination, measurement of proteinuria by dipstick (case and control) and in 24 hours (case), blood sampling, measurement of serum levels of Interleukin 6 with ELISA technique Sandwich. RESULTS: The study included 174 patients with preeclampsia (cases) and 356 normotensive pregnant women (controls). Significant differences were found between patients with preeclampsia and controls for age, history of preeclampsia in the mother and sisters, gestational age, history of smoking during pregnancy, blood pressure in the moment of delivery (systolic and diastolic), weight of the neonate and low APGAR score at the minute as at five minutes. The medium seric levels of interleukin6 in the cases (preeclampsia) was 13.70 pg/ml (RIQ 6.2827.2) while among the control group was 12.10 pg/mL (RIQ 5.3527.60), that difference was not significant (p = 0.4709), but there was a significative difference between the control group and the patients with HELLP syndrome
