dc.description.abstractEl ser sospechoso o poseedor del Virus de Síndrome de inmunodeficiencia (VIH) Síndrome de inmunodeficiencia del adulto (SIDA) hace reconocer el riesgo biológico existente entre la comunidad en la cual transcurre la vida humana, una vida que se transforma cuando se confirma la condición de ser VIH positivo, y desarrollar SIDA; desde ahí se generan una serie de preguntas y situaciones inherentes que modifican une estilo de vida. Es por esto que se realizó esta revisión de la literatura relacionada con la infección de VIH - SIDA, su patogenia, epidemiología, criterios diagnósticos, tratamientos y lineamientos de auto-cuidado, dirigidas a las áreas de nutrición, ejercicio físico, sexualidad, embarazo y lactancia materna. dc.description.abstractenglishBeing suspect of having the immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV) or having the adult immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) led to consider the biological risk that represents a subject with such a condition living within a community. Life changes when someone is positive to HIV is confirmed. Henceforth, several questions are posed, and the inherent instances modify the lifestyle. As a result, a literature review was performed related to HIV ΠAIDS, its pathogenesis, epidemiology, diagnostic judgment, treatments and guidelines for self care addressed to nutrition areas, physical exercise, sexuality, pregnancy, and maternal nurturing. This investigation thesis was based on collected data on Internet literature specialized on the subject such as: CDC, UNAIDS, AIDSMEDS, books, journals, and handling updated charts. This search was an overwhelming experience since the deepening in such guidelines is scarce. However, we obtained the necessary tools for handling and guiding to a person with such a condition in order to live with this situation at home. Considering that this virus day after day is stronger and captures new victims in an exponential way, no matter race, gender, age or religion; this work aims at generating the need of deepening and structuring a handling chart that is practical based scientifically for people with HIV-AIDS and for self care at home.
