dc.description.abstractLa Escuela de Ingeniería Química de la Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) en sus continuos cambios por lograr una formación adecuada de sus egresados, ha buscado a través de los años incluir, dentro de su programa académico, nuevas asignaturas con el fin de ofrecer alternativas de profundización en diferentes temas que estén relacionados con la Ingeniería Química. Debido, entonces, a la gran importancia que presentan los equipos de intercambio de calor a escala industrial, en la vida del ingeniero químico y la necesidad de formar profesionales que comprendan la estructura y funcionamiento de los mismos, la Escuela de Ingeniería Química ideó la creación de la creación de una asignatura que capte la atención de las personas interesadas en adquirir o reforzar conocimientos sobre el diseño de equipos de intercambio de calor, ya sea por satisfacción personal o como bases para su vida académica o profesional. En esta asignatura se tratarán temas desde la clasificación de los equipos de intercambio hasta el diseño térmico de los mismos, y se ofertará como asignatura electiva dentro del pensum de pregrado en Ingeniería Química. Dicha asignatura presentará una carga académica de 3 créditos e intensidad horaria presencial de 3 horas semanales.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe Chemical Engineering School at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) in its continuous changes to ensure the appropriate formation of its graduates, has searched through the years the inclusion of new courses within its academic program with the purpose of deepen in some topics. These new topics provide more choices to help the students improve their knowledge on different fields of Chemical Engineering. Due to the importance of the heat transfer equipment on an understand the structure and performance of those exchangers, the Chemical Engineering School devised the creatipresent project is the creation of this course. The elective course aims draw the attention of people interested in acquire or strengthen their knowledge about heat transfer equipment design, it does not matter if they do it for personal interest or in order to have a basic knowledge in their academic or professional life. In this course topics will be covered from the classification of heat transfer equipment to heat transfer thermal design, and will be offered as an elective within the curriculum of undergraduate Chemical Engineering. This course will provide an academic intensity of 3 credits and will require 3 hours of study per week.
