dc.description.abstractenglishAlthough the natural gas transport and distribution processes use the amount of gas received and delivered in terms of volume per unit of time, for example, cubic meters per day (m3 / day), the reality is that these processes correspond in practice to energy transport, Megajoules per day (MJ / day). For this reason, it is important in the commercialization of gas to know with an adequate level of confidence the energy content of the product transported or distributed, from which the amount of energy delivered to the customer is determined. When a transport or distribution network has more than one gas source, it is difficult to determine the energy content of the gas transported and consequently the amount of energy delivered to the costumer, since during the quantification period there may be variations in the gas energy content, variations that depend on the network's own conditions: such as sizes, distribution of consumption and points of entry, consumption profiles, among others. Having a methodology for the determination of the representative heating value that can be associated to a particular point in a transport network allows increasing the level of confidence on the part of the customer since the assigned energy content ensures compliance with the maximum permissible errors established by the regulation for custody transfer processes according to the class to which each system belongs. *
