El estudio macrosísmico del terremoto de Murindó (octubre 18 de 1992) ha sido elaborado siguiendo la metodología de Shebalín (1974). El evento sísmico afectó la región del Urabá Antioqueño y el epicentro fue localizado al este del municipio de Murindó, con una Intensidad máxima estimada de Xº (MM). La dirección de máxima elongación trazada para el modelo de ruptura presenta gran concordancia con los datos de buzamiento y azimut de la falla Murindó propuestos por autores como Montes y Sandoval (2001) y Paris et al. (2000), la cual se asocia como la generadora del evento sísmico.

The macroseismic study of the Murindó earthquake (October 18, 1992) has been carried out according to the Shebalín methodology ((1974). The seismic event affected the Urabá Antioqueño region and the epicentre was tracked down in the eastern part of the municipality of Murindó with an estimated maximum intensity of X0 (MM). The direction of maximum elongation traced by the rupture model shows great concordance with the dipping and azimuth data of the Murindó fault proposed by authors such as Montes and Sandoval (2001) and Paris et al.
