dc.descriptionEn esta investigación histórica se analizó la manera en que la Gazeta de México, como baluarte de la Ilustración en la Nueva España, introduce en su corpus de noticias aquellas relacionadas con los fenómenos meteorológicos, en una temporalidad comprendida desde la segunda mitad del siglo XVI y principalmente durante el primer tercio del siglo XVIII, tiempo en que circuló dicha publicación periódica. Posteriormente, se hizo una relación cronológica de los fenómenos en forma de cuadros y, de forma sucinta, se relacionaron determinados aspectos de la Ilustración criolla novohispana con algunos acontecimientos meteorológicos, que se relatan y describen. Finalmente, se reflexionó desde el presente acerca de los acontecimientos históricos tratados.es-ES
dc.descriptionThis historical research analyzed the way in which the Gazeta de México, as a bastion of the Enlightenment in New Spain, print news about meteorological phenomena, from the second half of the 16th century, and, mainly, during the first third of the 18th century, when that periodical publication was printed. Briefly, certain aspects of the Novohispanic Enlightenment -represented by the criollos-, were related to some meteorological events, which are reported and described. Finally, we reflect from the present about the historical events discussed.en-US
