| dc.description.abstract | “Saberes para un Sistema Integral Agropecuario Sostenible” para la Subregión del Sur del Cesar abarca tres áreas temáticas de interés. La primera es la transición hacia un sistema alimentario sustentable y las medidas que pueden tomar los actores principales ante las expectativas que generan los monocultivos o fincas con pocos sistemas de producción agropecuaria para la venta de excedentes antes garantizar su seguridad alimentaria en ese sentido, en términos de políticas, capacitación y generación de conciencia. Una segunda preocupación está referida al conocimiento, capacitación y adiestramiento que necesitan los agricultores y los trabajadores rurales, especialmente los pequeños productores agropecuarios que constituyen el grueso de la agricultura familiar en el Sur del Cesar. Un tercer tema es la educación acerca del sistema alimentario. Los gobiernos, las agencias internacionales y las comunidades deberían desarrollar políticas educativas y de comunicación para informar acerca de la escala, el potencial productivo y los múltiples beneficios sociales y ambientales que aporta la agricultura sustentable. El sistema alimentario hoy predominante está comúnmente aceptado como moderno, eficiente y capaz de producir alimentos baratos y abundantes. Sin embargo, cada vez se hacen más evidentes los costos insustentables de este sistema, entre los que se incluyen los costos ambientales --suelos erosionados, aguas contaminadas, pérdida del hábitat y amenazas para la flora y fauna silvestres: en una palabra, la destrucción de lo que se ha dado en llamar el “capital natural”. Este sistema genera además costos sociales –la desaparición progresiva de la agricultura familiar, la pérdida de puestos de trabajo agropecuario y la decadencia de las comunidades rurales: en una palabra, la desintegración de lo que se ha dado en llamar el “capital social”. | dc.description.abstractenglish | "Knowledge for a Sustainable Agricultural Integral" for the South Subregion Cesar covers three thematic areas of interest. The first is the transition to a sustainable food system and measures that can take the key players to the expectations generated by monoculture or farms with few or livestock production systems for the sale of surplus before ensure their food security in that sense, in policies terms, training and awareness generation. A second concern refers to knowledge, training and training needed by farmers and rural workers, especially small farmers who constitute the bulk of family farming in the south of Cesar. A third theme is education about the food system. Governments, international agencies and communities should develop educational policies and inform about the scale, the productive potential and the many social and environmental benefits that brings the sustainable agriculture. The prevailing food system today is commonly accepted as modern, efficient and capable of producing cheap and abundant food. However, increasingly become more evident unsustainable costs of this system, including environmental costs - eroded soils, contaminated water, habitat loss and threats to the flora and fauna: in a word, destruction what has been termed the "natural capital".
