dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo brinda al lector información acerca del comportamiento de las estructuras de cimentación teniendo en cuenta el contacto del suelo y la estructura, ya que tradicionalmente el análisis estructural se realiza con las hipótesis de que la estructura de los edificios está empotrada en el suelo, es decir, apoyada en un material indeformable, hipótesis que no es una condición común en fundaciones. De otro lado, el ingeniero de suelos, para el cálculo de las condiciones de servicio por asentamiento del suelo, desprecia la rigidez de la estructura, cuyo modelo son solo las resultantes de las reacciones. La información contenida busca comprender que los efectos del suelo y la estructura, se produce por el hecho de que al estar en contacto se deforman como un conjunto, determinar las reacciones y las deformaciones del sistema, teniendo en cuenta la compatibilidad de deformaciones, acercando a un comportamiento real de la estructura, ya que ni el suelo es indeformable ni la estructura tan flexible como para que sus efectos no estén interrelacionados.
