Síntesis En el presente ensayo se hace una rigurosa revisión de los autores más importantes que han dado aporte al principio de la demanda efectiva. Jhon Maynard Keynes es generalmente considerado como el gestor de la teoría pero sin embargo, otros economistas (Thomas Malthus, David Ricardo, John A. HobsoIl y A. F. Mummery) ya habían planteado la posibilidad de que pudieran ocurrir crisis de sobreproducción generalizada como consecuencia del exceso de ahorro. Sin dudas fue Kaynes el que formuló un cuerpo teórico coherente sobre el mencionado principio.
Summary This essay presents a rigorous review of the most important authors who have contributed to the principIe of the effective demmand. Jhon Maynard Keynes is usually considered as the pioneer of the theory. However, other economist such as thomas Malthns, David Ricardo, John A. Hobson, and A. F. Mummery had already posed the possibility of the occurrence of crises due to a generalized overproduction as a consequence of excessive saving. It was, without any doubt, Keynes who set forth a coherent theorical body about the abovementioned principIe.
