dc.description.abstractSiendo la Troncal Occidente una unidad de negocio de la compañía Cenit Transporte y Logística de Hidrocarburos, la gerencia de la troncal debe hacer seguimiento y control al desempeño de los procesos a su cargo a través de una serie de indicadores. Cada uno de estos indicadores cuenta con diversas fuentes de información que le permiten a la gerencia tomar decisiones relacionadas con áreas como: mantenimiento, operaciones, finanzas, proyectos, HSE, seguridad de procesos, gestión ambiental, entre otros. Con el objetivo de optimizar el proceso de control de gestión a las áreas anteriormente nombradas, se diseñó un modelo de herramienta tecnológica de inteligencia empresarial y análisis de datos, que facilita el tratamiento y análisis de los grandes volúmenes de datos que se generan día a día, ayudando a la toma de decisiones oportunas y eficientes que aseguren el alcance de los objetivos estratégicos de la troncal. Para esto, se seleccionó un software de inteligencia empresarial acorde con los requerimientos de la troncal; se diseñó una interfaz gráfica dinámica e intuitiva para el usuario; se generaron una serie de informes de inteligencia empresarial; se integraron a la herramienta las diversas fuentes de información, bases de datos, software y demás recursos de la compañía; y finalmente, se documentaron una serie de estrategias de sostenibilidad y mejora continua para facilitar la actualización, ajuste y maduración de la herramienta
dc.description.abstractenglishBeing the Occidental Trunk a business unit of the company Cenit Transporte y Logística de Hidrocarburos, the management of the trunk must monitor and control the performance of the processes under its responsibility through a series of indicators. Each of these indicators has various sources of information that allows management to make decisions related to areas such as: maintenance, operations, finances, projects, HSE, process safety, environmental management, among others. With the aim of optimizing the management control process in the mentioned areas, a technological tool model for business intelligence and data analysis was design to facilitate the treatment and analysis of the large volumes of dates that are generated every day, helping to make opportune and efficient decisions that ensure the achievement of the Occidental Trunk’s strategic objectives. For this purpose, a business intelligence software was selected according to the requirements of the Trunk; a dynamic and intuitive graphic interface was designed for the user; a series of business intelligence reports were generated; the various sources of information, databases, software, and other company resources were integrated; and finally, sustainability and continuous improvement strategies were documented to facilitate the updating, adjustment, and maturation of the tool
