dc.description.abstractEsta monografía corresponde a la revisión bibliográfica y análisis de la literatura sobre la organismos nacionales e internacionales como la O. M. S vienen desarrollando de forma periódica, estrategias de seguridad del paciente para mejorar la calidad de los cuidados en los diferentes centros asistenciales, Colombia impulsa una Política de Seguridad del Paciente, liderada por el Sistema Obligatorio de Garantía de Calidad de la Atención en Salud, cuyo objetivo es prevenir la ocurrencia de situaciones que afecten la seguridad del paciente, reducir y de ser posible eliminar la ocurrencia de Evento s adversos para contar con instituciones seguras y competitivas internacionalmente. La seguridad del paciente se considera un indicador importante en la calidad de la atención, es importante que las organizaciones cuenten con una política de seguridad del paciente e implementar prácticas seguras en los diferentes procesos de atención. El resultado de esta monografía fue la elaboración de una herramienta que ayude al personal asistencial a prevenir y/o minimizar los eventos adversos mediante la aplicación de la presente guía de manejo en buenas prácticas en seguridad del paciente y prevención de infecciones intrahospitalarias.
