RESUMENEste artículo titulado: "¿Qué es la pedagogía? los desafíos del maestro para hacer de este saber el fundamento y proyección de su quehacer", analiza en primer lugar, el recorrido histórico y epistemológico de la pedagogía; en segundo lugar, presenta las dificultades que el maestro afronta para hacer de la pedagogía, una ciencia, que potencie y consolide su labor y por último de que manera estos obstáculos pueden convertirse en desafíos para que el educador transforme su mundo y contribuya a mejorar el mundo de los otros, los educandos.
