dc.descriptionThis paper analyzes the labor of justice given on Pedro de Salcedo by the Royal Court of Santa Fe, represented in the figure of the judge of such institution, Juan de Montaño. Salcedo was accused in 1553 of the deaths of several indians when he performed his duties as mayor of the city of San Sebastian de Mariquita, a fact that motivated the investigation carried out by Montaño. The article presents an analysis of such a process, which had negative implications for the oidor.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente artículo analiza la administración de justicia dada a Pedro de Salcedo por la Real Audiencia de Santa Fe, representada en la figura del oidor de tal institución, Juan de Montaño. Salcedo fue acusado en 1553 de las muertes de varios indios al cumplir sus labores como alcalde de la ciudad de San Sebastián de Mariquita, en el Nuevo Reino de Granada, hecho que motivó la investigación llevada a cabo por Montaño. El artículo presenta un análisis de tal proceso, que tuvo implicaciones negativas para el oidor.es-ES
