RESUMEN Durante cerca de doce años, se han proseguido en México políticas económicas inspiradas en lo que comúnmente se conoce como el "Modelo Neoliberal". En Diciembre de 1994, como bien es sabido, una crisis cambiaria se convirtió en una crisis financiera de grandes proporciones, transformándose ésta última en una crisis económica generalizada. La magnitud de la misma fue tal, que se le denominó como "la primera crisis del siglo XXI". El autor explica las razones del por qué el Gobierno mexicano insiste en seguir aplicando las mismas políticas económicas que llevaron a la actual situación y esclarece que sólo pueden encontrarse haciendo referencia a lo que actualmente se designa como el proceso de globalización de la economía mundial.
SUMMARY During about twelve years, the Mexican Government has prosecuted with inspirational economic policies in what usually is known as the "Neoliberal Model". In December of 1994, as good is known, an exchange crisis was converted in a financial crisis of large proportions, being transformed this last into a generalized economic crisis. The magnitude of the same was such, that was designated as "the first crisis of the century XXl". The author explains why the Mexican Govermnent insists on folIowing applying the same economic policies that carried to the current situation and explains that onIy they can be found taking issue with what currently is designated as the globalization process of the world economy.
