dc.descriptionOriginally published in 2005, this brief paper aims to answer a perennial question: Why is the human thought not joy? The author leaves from a declaration of Schelling that serves as epigraph to the book and contains a set of affirmations of certain dialectic crypticity. In any case, Steiner draws from them a clear univocal lesson in the innumerable series of verdicts and sentences that, from Ecclesiastes at least, flit around the human misfortune of being aware, to that regret to warn the world in irreducible records to the presumed pacified contemplation of the beasts, that kind of poisoned gift that bequeathed us the "glory" of dominating the other species at the price of not being able to reconcile us with the real and living life in perpetual exile.en-US
dc.descriptionPublicado originalmente en el año 2005 (Ten ( Possible ) Reasons for Sadnessof Thought ), este escrito breve se propone responder un interrogante perenne: ¿Por qué el pensamiento humano no es alegría? Su autor parte de una declaración de Schelling que sirve de epígrafe al libro y contiene un conjunto de afirmaciones de cierta cripticidad dialéctica. En todo caso, Steiner extrae de ellas una lección unívoca alineable en la serie innúmera de veredictos y sentencias que, desde el Eclesiastés por lo menos, revolotean en torno a la desgracia humana de ser conscientes, a esa pesadumbre de advertir el mundo en registros irreductibles al presunto contemplar pacificado de las bestias, esa suerte de regalo envenenado que nos legó la "gloria" de dominar a las demás especies al precio de no poder reconciliarnos con lo real y vivir la vida en perpetuo exilio.es-ES
