dc.description.abstractEn este estudio se presentan los resultados de la caracterización estructural del derivado del metronidazol, 2-metil-5-nitro-1-[2-(2-nitrofenoxi)etil]-1H-imidazol. Se incluyen los análisis por espectroscopia infrarroja (IR), termogramas (TGA y DSC) y difracción de rayos X en polvo (PXRD), abarcando desde la obtención del perfil de difracción hasta la validación completa de la estructura cristalina y su análisis supramolecular. El espectro de IR confirmó la identidad del compuesto, mientras que el perfil de difracción de rayos X de polvo permitió la determinación estructural mediante el método de recocido simulado, optimizando así la mejor representación del derivado. Los resultados revelan que el derivado analizado está monohidratado y cristaliza en el grupo espacial P2₁2₁2₁, con parámetros de celda a = 22,52869 Å, b = 13,85144 Å, c = 4,57496 Å y un volumen V = 1430,922 ų. Además, el empaquetamiento cristalino está estabilizado por enlaces de hidrógeno e interacciones π-π entre las moléculas.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis study presents the structural characterization results of the metronidazole derivative 2-methyl-5-nitro-1-[2-(2-nitrophenoxy)ethyl]-1H-imidazole. The analyses include infrared spectroscopy (IR), thermograms (TGA) (DSC), and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), covering the diffraction profile acquisition, full validation of the crystalline structure, and its supramolecular analysis. The IR spectrum confirmed the compound’s identity, while the powder X-ray diffraction profile enabled structural determination using the simulated annealing method, optimizing the best structural representation of the derivative. The results reveal that the analyzed derivative is monohydrated and crystallizes in the space group P2₁2₁2₁, with unit cell parameters a = 22,52869 Å, b = 13,85144 Å, c = 4,57496, and volume V = 1430.922 ų. Additionally, the crystal packing is stabilized by hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions between the molecules.
