El artículo explora a través del análisis del capítulo relativo a la “vida y honestidadde los clérigos” de las “Constituciones sinodales de Nueva Pamplona” de 1872, quedichas disposiciones se orientaban a constituir al sacerdote en un modelo de vida social.Las diferentes prescripciones halladas en dicho documento exponen la necesidadde reactualizar normas tradicionales para el clero con el fin de afrontar situacionesespecíficas de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX en una diócesis de la Nueva Granada.Presenta los antecedentes de dicha normativa y explora una a una las disposicionesencaminadas hacia la reforma clerical, con base en la perspectiva del estudio de laReforma Católica, de Jean Delumeau y los aportes de la prosaica de Katia Mandoki.Santander in decline: the failure of Bartolomé Rugeles’ investments in Puerto WilchesRailroad, 1903-1916.
Through the analysis of the chapter “Life and honesty of the clergy” contained in theNueva Pamplona Sinodal Constitutions of 1872, this article reviews the regulationsprescribed by the Church to define the priest role as a model of social life. Theregulations founded in the aforementioned document, suggested the need to update traditional norms that governed the clerical life in order to face specific situations ina diocese of Nueva Granada during the second half of the 19th century. The articlealso examines the events prior to the regulations and explores each norm orientedto clerical reform following J.
