dc.descriptionThe K-Ar dating methods on illites are an important tool for the study of sedimentary basins, hydrothermal events and low- and very low-grade metamorphic rocks. The granulometric fractions that better register the thermal history are those between 2.0-0.4µm, 0.4-0.2µm and <0.2µm, due its high concentration of newformed illites. A preliminary SEM study of the rocks, and the XRD analysis of each granulometric fraction is fundamental to interpretate the geological meaning of the obtained isotopic data.en-US
dc.descriptionLas dataciones K-Ar en illitas son una herramienta importante para el estudio de cuencas sedimentarias, eventos hidrotermales y rocas metamórficas de bajo y muy bajo grado de temperatura. Las fracciones que mejor registran la historia termal de las rocas son aquellas de granulometrías entre 2.0-0.4µm, 0.4-0.2µm y <0.2µm, debido a que concentran mayoritariamente la illita neoformada. Un estudio preliminar de las rocas al SEM y el análisis de cada fracción mediante XRD, es fundamental en el momento de dar significado geológico a los datos isotópicos obtenidas.  es-ES
