dc.descriptionThis article presents the genesis of the research process undertaken by the Research Group on Information Systems and Technology (STl) of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) on the theory and practice of Systems Thinking (PS) , Information Systems (IS) and Information Technology (IT), for organizational development. The article begins by proposing the context on which the research was framed. It illustrates, therefore, the situation in which the authors came together for the generation of the development to expose just as it outlines the intellectual path adopted for its realization. On this basis, the document continues with the detail of the results obtained in each phase of the investigative path. It addresses, therefore, the guidelines identified for the administration of information, a proposed conceptual and methodological framework for such activity, and an inquiry tool called INDEX as a contribution to its exercise. dc.descriptionEl presente articulo expone la génesis del proceso de investigación emprendido por el Grupo deInvestigación en Sistemas y Tecnologia de la Información (ST!) de la Universidad Industrial deSantander (UIS), sobre la teoria y la práctica del Pensamiento de Sistemas (PS), los Sistemas deInformación (SI) y la Tecnología Informática (TI), para el desarrollo organizacional.El articulo inicia planteando el contexto sobre el cual se enmarcó la investigación. Ilustra portanto, la situación en la que confluyeron los autores para la generación del desarrollo a exponel~al igual que esquematiza el recorrido intelectual adoptado para su realización. Sobre esta base,el documento continúa con el detalle de los resultados obtenidos en cada fase del caminoinvestigativo. Se aborda por consiguiente, las orientaciones identificadas para la administraciónde la información, un marco conceptual y metodológico propuesto para tal actividad, y uninstrumento de indagación denominado indiSIO como aporte a su ejercicio. Finalmente, el artículoconcluye con la reflexión sobre el aprendizaje ganado tras la investigación.es-ES
