dc.descriptionThe aim of this paper is to analyze the dynamics of das Unheimliche in and as literature as a key to understand the relationship between appearance and reality. After emphasizing the importance of Henry James’ works and theories (§ 1), and correcting the Freudian views exposed in the essay “Das Unheimliche” (which we assume to be erroneous), the aesthetic ideals developed and defended by James and Poe, together with the story “The Beast in the Jungle” and the poem “The Raven”, are analyzed and compared upon its basis (§§ 2-3).en-US
dc.descriptionEl trabajo se propone analizar la dinámica del modo de darse unheimlich en la literatura y en tanto clave para entender la relación entre apariencia y realidad. Luego de enfatizar la importancia de Henry James como autor y teórico (§1), y de corregir la interpretación freudiana del fenómeno de lo unheimliche en el ensayo homónimo cuya falta de adecuación a las fuentes schellingianas esperamos demostrar, se analizan y comparan las concepciones estéticas de Henry James y Edgar Allan Poe junto con el relato “La bestia en la jungla” y el poema “El cuervo” (§§ 2-3).es-ES
