RESUMEN El presente artículo muestra de forma sucinta las posibilidades lingüísticas que tienen las personas de la tercera edad. Señala habilidades presentes en la narración de sus historias de vida y también alude a momentos en los cuales la narración se ve entorpecida por algún tipo de dificultad, ya sea lingüística o de memoria. Está ilustrado con ejemplos de informantes reales grabados en contextos naturales. PALABRAS CLAVE: Discurso, narración, vejez, habilidades discursivas, dificultades lingüísticas, producción oral.
ABSTRACT This article briefly points out the linguistic possibilities that people in the third age have. It shows actual skills in the narration of their life stories, and also refers to certain moments in which narration has some troubles, both, linguistic or because of bad memory. It's illustrated with real informants examples recorded in natural contexts. KEY WORDS: Discourse, narration, old age, discursive skills, linguistic troubles, oral production.
