dc.descriptionRESUMENEn el presente artículo se realiza un análisis descriptivo de la percepción de la calidad de la educación que reciben los estudiantes del nivel de pregrado de la Facultad de Salud de la Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), complementándose con el análisis de sus expectativas laborales y sociales. Las respuestas son comparadas con las de estudiantes de las otras facultades de la misma institución. Se desarrolló un estudio cuantitativo, por muestreo estadístico (367 en total, 9% estudiantes de la Facultad de Salud), mediante la definición del nivel de calidad en la educación recibida como parámetro poblacional, y se aplicó un instrumento tipo encuesta elaborado para el estudio. Los resultados muestran una mejor calificación de diferentes aspectos de la formación universitaria por parte de los estudiantes de la Facultad de Salud, así como una marcada tendencia a considerar la necesidad de la especialización como garantía de una buena ubicación laboral. Finalmente, se estableció que en la UIS los estudiantes piensan que sus garantías futuras, en términos de ascenso y mercado laboral, están supeditadas a la calidad de la educación que reciben en la universidad.Palabras clave: jóvenes, formación, expectativas laborales, educación superior, calidad educativa. es-ES
dc.descriptionABSTRACTIn this article a descriptive analysis of the perception of the quality of education received by undergraduate students of the Faculty of Health of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, UIS, complemented by the analysis of labor and social expectations .The answers are compared with those of students from other faculties of the institution. We developed a quantitative, statistical sample (367 in total, 9% students of the Faculty of Health), by defining the level of quality of education received as a population parameter and applied a questionnaire developed for this study .The results show a better classification of different aspects of university education by students from the Health Sciences Faculty, and a marked tendency to consider the need for specialization as a guarantee of good job placement. It was finally settled that at UIS, students think that their future security in terms of promotion and job market, are subject to the quality of education received in college.Key words: Youth, education, job expectations, higher education, quality educationen-US
