dc.descriptionAbstract: Thomas Hobbes´  political thought occupies a central place in the history of political ideas, on account of his political theory being the first post medieval explanation of political power. Influenced by the methodological and metaphysical perspective of the modern science, the hobbesian proposal advocates the separation of politics and religion by means of an ascendant explanation of the origin and justification of political power. This paper aims to analyze the argumentative structure of the hobbesian proposal, through three different interpretations of Hobbes´ state of nature. My goal is to shed light on this issue by a rigorous analysis of several arguments, offered by a group of renowned scholars, about the origin of the conflict in the state of nature.en-US
dc.descriptionEn el conjunto general de la literatura relacionada con la historia de las ideas políticas, el filósofo inglés Thomas Hobbes ocupa un lugar central. Tal centralidad responde al hecho de que su propuesta política constituye la primera explicación postmedieval del poder político, así como el primer intento de defensa de los valores esenciales del liberalismo. Influenciada por la perspectiva metodológica y metafísica de la ciencia moderna, la propuesta hobbesiana, consignada en  El Leviatán, defiende el deslindamiento de la política y la religión mediante una explicación diferente a la medieval (no descendente sino ascendente) del origen y el fundamento del poder político.  El presente artículo tiene como objetivo precisamente analizar la estructura argumentativa de  esta explicación ascendente del poder político, mediante tres diferentes interpretaciones del estado de naturaleza hobbesiano. Más que defender una teoría interpretativa en particular, mi intención aquí es arrojar luces sobre esta cuestión mediante la exégesis ceñida de los argumentos ofrecidos por algunos especialistas respecto del origen del conflicto en el estado de naturaleza.es-ES
