dc.description.abstractEsta investigación busca explicar la relación entre la literatura y la sociedad con el objetivo de mostrar que es posible establecer una articulación entre la Literatura y las Ciencias Sociales. Este trabajo se desarrolló durante cinco meses con setenta estudiantes que oscilan entre los trece y los quince años, y cursan el noveno grado en el Colegio de la Santísima Trinidad. La primera actividad fue ubicar a las estudiantes en una época histórica determinada. Para esto fue necesario que las jóvenes investigaran y presentaran exposiciones orales acerca de diferentes aspectos a saber: sociales, políticos y económicos que se sucedieron durante el siglo XIX. Esta actividad es fabulosa porque ayuda a comprender mejor las obras literarias, ya que es importante conocer el contexto en el cual éstas fueron escritas y esto es más fácil hacerlo trabajando simultáneamente con las Ciencias Sociales. Por otra parte la distancia temporal es evidente en una obra escrita tiempos atrás, debido a las diferencias lingüísticas, los temas a tratar y los valores humanos que cambian de una época a otra. Fue entonces necesario delimitar los temas a trabajar con el fin de facilitar el análisis de la obra. Para ello se seleccionaron, de la obra María escrita por Jorge Isaacs, dos tópicos específicos como fueron el ícono de María como símbolo de la Virgen María y el contexto social que la rodeaba que era la sociedad señorial que tenía como base la patriarcal, conformando así la estructura social de la época en la que la obra fue escrita la novela. Se puede decir que la investigación tuvo éxito ya que las estudiantes realizaron el ejercicio de leer otra novela de otra época (contemporánea), y la ubicaron histórica y geográficamente in forma correcta, siguiendo los diferentes pasos trabajados en
dc.description.abstractenglishThis investigation looks for explaining the relationship between literature and society in order to show the articulation between Social Sciences and literature. This work was made during five months with seventy students who are from thirteen to fifteen years old, and who study the fourth year of high school, in the Santísima Trinidad School. First of all, it was important to ubicate the students in a history special time. In order to do that, it was necessary they made some investigations and prepared some oral reports about the different social, political and economic, changes during XIX century. This activity is great because for understanding better a literature book, it is important to know the social context in which the story was developed; and it is easier to do it working at the same time with Social Sciences. On the other hand, the temporal distance is evident in front of a book that was written many years ago, because of the different languages, topics and the human valoration that are different from time to time. Besides, it was important to delimit the topic of this work in order to make easy its analysis, to showing two important aspects from the novel María which author was Jorge Isaacs. The first one was the Mary’s ícono like Virgen Mary’s symbol; and the second one was the patriarchal society, which made an special social structure at that time. We can say that the investigation was successful, because the students made the exercise by reading another novel, from another time (contemporary); and they ubicated it historically and geographically in a correct away, by following the different steps worked in class.
