dc.descriptionRESUMENUna mirada  a  la  confguración  del  trabajo  docente  en  la  universidad,  a las  características  que  marcan  el  ejercicio  de  esta  profesión  y  a  sus repercusiones  en  el  bienestar  de  los maestros  y  en  el  desarrollo  de  sus prácticas  pedagógicas.  Esta  refexión  toma  como  base  las  posturas  que maestros  universitarios  presentaron  en  el  marco  de  la  investigación “Asignación  académica,  satisfacción  laboral  y  calidad  de  las  prácticas pedagógicas  en  el  contexto  de  la  universidad”.  Se  contrasta  en  este artículo el relato de los profesores, la normatividad y diversas posiciones teóricas que centran su análisis en el maestro, en su dimensión personal y profesional.Palabras  clave: Carga  académica, universidad, docencia,  investigación, extensión, bienestar, prácticas pedagógicas.OF ACADEMIC  LOADS: CHECKS AND BALANCES OF UNIVERSITY TEACHING  ABSTRACTA look at the confguration of faculty work at the university, the characteristics that mark  the  exercise  of  their  profession  and  its  impact  on  the welfare  of teachers and on the development of their pedagogical practices.  This discussion draws  on  the  position  that  university  faculty  presented  on  the  investigation “Academic workload, work satisfaction, and quality of pedagogical practices in  the  university  context”.    This  article  draws  contrasts  between  teachers’ perspectives,  regulations,  and  various  theoretical  positions  that  focus  their analysis on teachers, in their personal and professional dimension.Key words: Academic load, university, teaching, research, extension, welfare, pedagogical practices.es-ES
