dc.description.abstractEl desarrollo de esta monografía se fundamenta en la realización de un estudio de competitividad para el “Laboratorio de Análisis Petrofísicos y Daño a la Formación” de la Escuela de Ingeniería de Petróleos de la Universidad Industrial de Santander, como base para la reestructuración de su Plan Estratégico, determinando las ventajas competitivas que actualmente posee el Laboratorio frente a otros competidores en la forma de responder a distintas demandas y oportunidades del mercado. El punto de inicio de este estudio se fundamentó en la elaboración de un diagnóstico del entorno externo basado en la aplicación de las cinco fuerzas de Porter, lo cual consistió en evaluar el Laboratorio de acuerdo a sus competidores potenciales, la rivalidad de competidores, el poder de negociación de los proveedores y la amenaza de ingreso de productos sustitutos, esto permitió identificar las oportunidades y amenazas del mismo en un entorno competitivo. Posteriormente, se elaboró un diagnostico interno, considerando los recursos tangibles e intangibles del Laboratorio, identificando sus fortalezas y debilidades que impactan en el funcionamiento del Laboratorio. Finalmente se valoraron las fortalezas y oportunidades anteriormente identificadas, obteniendo como resultado las ventajas competitivas del Laboratorio que la Escuela de Ingeniería de Petróleos debe mantener a través del tiempo para generar mayor rentabilidad. Por último, se elaboraron las respectivas conclusiones y recomendaciones sobre el desarrollo del presente estudio.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe development of this monograph is based on performing a competitiveness study for the petrophysical analysis and damage formation of the petroleum school of THE UNIVERSIDAD INDUSTRIAL DE SANTANDER, as a basis for the structuring of its strategic plan, establishing the competitiveness advantages that the laboratory has against other competitors. This is based on how the laboratory responds to the demands and marketing opportunities. The starting point of this study based on the a diagnostic of the external context, based on the application of Porter's five forces, which consisted in evaluating the laboratory according to its potential competitors, the capacity to make businesses, and the threat of entry of substitute products. This allowed identifying the opportunities and threats in a competitiveness context. Then, it was elaborated an internal assessment, considering the tangible and intangible resources of the laboratory. With this it was possible to identify its strengths and weaknesses that have a great impact on the way the laboratory operates. Finally, it was assessed the previously identified strengths and opportunities of the laboratory, providing the results of the competitiveness advantages that the laboratory of the petroleum school of the Universidad Industrial de Santander should keep in order to generate greater profitability. Finally, the conclusion and recommendations of this study were provided.
