SíntesisEl presente artículo señala aspectos centrales de la revolución científica y filosófica realizada por Galileo y Descartes en el siglo XVII. Con Galileo nace un lluevo método para el estudio y la interpretación de la naturaleza, y con el mecanismo cartesiano se logra la desacralización del mundo, ofreciéndose al hombre la posibilidad de crear nuevos modelos para la exploración y el dominio de la naturaleza con las consecuencias ecológicas y humanas que vemos hoy, después de dos siglos de revolución industrial. En el artículo se muestran algunos de los límites y dificultades que ofrecían los modelos Galileano y Cartesiano, y se ahoga por una concepción más holista, que permita el reencuentro del hombre con la naturaleza.
