dc.description.abstract	El presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo principal describir las percepciones sobre el tema de la ciudadanía, que tienen los estudiantes de primer semestre de Filosofía de la Universidad Industrial de Santander. Por otra, parte se analizaron factores socio-demográficos en relación con el tema, para determinar de qué manera influyen o no en la percepción que se tiene de Democracia, Ciudadanía y la Política en general, aspectos como el género, el estrato socioeconómico y la edad. Para la recolección de los datos se aplicó un cuestionario de cultura política y ciudadanía que consta de 60 ítems y 12 categorías en torno al tema, que permitieron evidenciar, entre otros hallazgos, el escaso interés de los jóvenes en participar activamente en los asuntos políticos si éstos se siguen manejando por las elites y los principios tradicionales. Con respecto a la metodología del proyecto, se incluyen en este apartado la contextualización de la investigación, para ubicar y reseñar la institución donde se llevó a cabo el estudio y la población que conformó la muestra seleccionada. dc.description.abstractenglish	The present article contains the experiences and the analysis of the information gathered in the Universidad Industrial de Santander Œ Bucaramanga -Colombia, in the development of the cooperative Project of New forms of Democracy and Citizenship: Towards an alternative proposal of the Civil Education, of the University of Puerto Rico, which the major objective is to propitiate a dialogue on a global level related to the development in countries of the Caribbean region of new ways of understanding and practicing the democracy and, consequently, understanding and practicing the citizenship. Following this intention, two activities were carried out where the instruments were applied and created specifically to analyze the way how the democracy and the citizenship are perceived by the students of higher education. The methodology, the finds and the results obtained of the analysis done to the information gathered in the debate and the survey will be presented with reflective contributions in the next text. With regard to the methodology of the project, are included in this section, the contextualization of research, to locate and review the institution where the study took place and people that shaped the selected sample.
