dc.description.abstract	Los Esquistos del Silgará aflorantes en el sector centro-occidental del Macizo de Santander, en la franja Berlín se estudiaron mediante trabajo de campo y microscopia óptica de luz transmitida. Los Esquistos del Silgará en la franja Berlín ocurren como una secuencia de rocas pelíticas consistentes en esquistos cuarzo-muscovíticos con o sin granate, esquistos muscovitico-cuarzosos con o sin granate, semipelíticas compuestas por cuarcitas con o sin granate y psamitas compuestas por cuarcitas. Estas rocas fueron afectadas por un metamorfismo regional de grado intermedio, que alcanzó temperaturas máximas de hasta 600°C, indicando la parte baja de la zona de la andalucita de la facies anfibolita, otras paragénesis definidas indican la zona de la biotita y granate de la facies esquistos verdes. También se identifica un metamorfismo dinámico sobreimpuesto, asociado a las fallas satélites que afectan a las rocas a diferentes niveles estructurales. Los Esquistos del Silgará en la franja Berlín del Macizo de Santander presentan diferencias relacionadas con el grado de metamorfismo y la litología con respecto a las otras franjas que conforman los Esquistos del Silgará, es decir que esta unidad litológica es más heterogénea de lo planteado hasta ahora, siendo necesario estudios geocronológicos y geoquímicos que permitan determinar la edad y los ambientes de formación de los protolitos en el contexto de los Andes del Norte.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The schists of Silgara that crops out in the central-western region of the Santander Massif, in the fringe Berlin are were studied by field work and transmitted light optical microscopy. The Silgará schists in the fringe Berlin are a sequence of pelitic rocks compossed by quartz-muscovite schists whit or whitout garnet, muscovite-quartz shists whit or whitout garnet, semipelitic rocks constituted for quartzites whit or whitout garnet and psamitic rocks constituted for quartzites. This rocks were affected by a intermediate grade regional metamorphism that reached maximum temperatures by 600°C, which are indication the low part from analusite zone, Amphibolite facies, other assemblages defined corresponds to the biotite and granet zones of greenschist facies. Also we identified a overprinting dynamic metamorphism related whith local faults that affect to the rocks in a different structural levels. The Silgará schists in the fringe Berlín of the Santander Massif present differences in the metamorphism grade and the litology With respect to the other fringe that make up the schists of silgara, this explain that the Silgará shist are litologic unit more heterogeneous than considered so far, being necessary geochronological and geochemical studies to determine the age and environment of formation of the protoliths in the context of the Northerm Andes.
