dc.description.abstract	Desde tiempos remotos el afán del ser humano por cubrir sus necesidades, conocer el mundo y alcanzar el éxito, ha propiciado la constante búsqueda del conocimiento, y es gracias a esta iniciativa, que los países se han preocupado por avanzar en el desarrollo del conocimiento científico, pues el crecimiento y desarrollo económico de una nación, dependen de cómo el conocimiento fruto del trabajo de universidades e investigadores, es adoptado y usado por la sociedad en general para beneficio propio y solución de problemas cotidianos; a este proceso se le denomina Apropiación Social del Conocimiento (ASC). Al ser la universidad Industrial de Santander una fuente de creación de conocimiento, se tomarán los proyectos realizados por los grupos de investigación de la facultad de Ingenierías Físico- Mecánicas dentro del periodo de 2011 a 2016 y de allí, por medio de un análisis de los mismos y de entrevistas semi-estructuradas a los directores de los grupos de investigación, se partirá para analizar si las investigaciones realmente están siendo apropiadas por la comunidad. De así serlo, responder a interrogantes asociados a ¿cómo se dieron tales apropiaciones?, ¿qué factores intervinieron en el desarrollo del proceso? y ¿cómo han influidos estos proyectos en la construcción de conocimiento para la resolución de problemas de la vida cotidiana?
dc.description.abstractenglish	Since ancient times, human´s desire to meet their needs, to get to know the world and to have been concerned to move forward with the development of scientific knowledge, since the growth and economic development of a nation depends on how the knowledge derived from the work of universities and researchers is adopted and used by society in general for personal benefit and for solving everyday problems. This process is called Social Appropriation of the Knowledge (SAK). Since the Industrial University of Santander is a source of knowledge creation, the projects carried out by the research groups of the Faculty of Physical-Mechanical Engineering within the period of 2011 to 2016 and from there, by means of an analysis of the and semi-structured interviews with the directors of the research groups, will be split to analyze if the research is really being appropriated by the community. If so, respond to questions associated with how such appropriations were given? what factors intervened in the development of the process? and how these projects have influenced the construction of knowledge for the resolution of problems of daily life?
