dc.description.abstract	Mediante estudios petrográficos y estructurales de las unidades litológicas aflorantes en el sector de Berlín se obtiene la cartografía geológica de dicho sector a escala 1:25.000. Se identificaron las siguientes unidades: Neis de Bucaramanga (PCabh), Esquistos del Silgará (s.s), Ortoneis (Neis cuarzofeldespático y Neis hornbléndico), Stock de Granodiorita (Jg), Plutón de Páramo Rico (TRtgd), Cuarzomonzonita Santa Bárbara (JRcs), Granito de Pescadero (JRgp), Aplita (a), Riolita (r), Formación Tambor (Kita), Depósitos Glaciofluviales (Qg) y Depósitos de Terraza Aluvial (Qtf). En cuanto a estructuras en el área de Berlín se identificaron cuatro fallas locales: La Falda, Las Guarichas, El Cincho y El Saladito distribuidas a lo largo del área de estudio. Geomorfológicamente el área de Berlín se encuentra dominada por un ambiente estructural y en menor proporción ambientes de carácter fluvial, glacial y antropogénico según la clasificación del Servicio Geológico Colombiano (SGC), sus pendientes varían desde ligeramente inclinadas a fuertemente quebradas. El pico de metamorfismo de los Esquistos del Silgará se relaciona con el evento orogénico principal Fammatiniano (localmente conocida como Quetame-Caparonensis, Restrepo-Pace and Cediel, 2010; Mantilla et al., 2012; Van Der Lilej, 2014; Spikings et al., 2015; otros). Basados en edades U-Pb en circones detríticos se puede concluir que la máxima edad estratigráfica es Neoproterozóico (Mantilla et al., 2015). Los Esquistos del Silgará y el Ortoneis son coetáneos con respecto al evento metamórfico.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Through petrographic and structural studios of the outcropping lithological units on Berlín area, the geological cartography of this sector is obtained in a 1:25.000 scale. The following units were identified: Neis from Bucaramanga (PCabh), Silgará schists (s.s), Ortoneis (Neis cuarzofeldespático y Neis hornbléndico), Granodiorite´s Stock (Jg), Pluto´s Páramo Rico (TRtgd), Cuarzomonzonita Santa Bárbara (JRcs), Granite´s Pescadero (JRgp), Aplite (a), Rhyolite (r), Tambor Formation (Kita), Glaciofluvial Deposits (Qg) and Alluvial Terrace Deposits (Qtf). In regard to the structures, four local faults were identified on Berlín area: La Falda, Las Guarichas, El Cincho y El Saladito distributed along the studio area. Geomorphologically, Berlín™s area is dominated by a structural environment and in lower proportion fluvial, glacial and anthropogenic character environments, by classification Colombian Geological Survey (SGC); its slopes vary from slightly steep to heavily broken. The peak of metamorphism of Silgará Schists relates to the main Famatinian orogenic event (Locally known as Quetame-Caparonensis, Restrepo-Pace and Cediel, 2010; Mantilla et al., 2012; Van Der Lilej, 2014; Spikings et al., 2015; others). Based on U-Pb ages on detrital zircons, it can be concluded than the stratigraphic age limit is Neoproterozoic (Mantilla et al., 2015).
